GM Plans for Early Retiree Reinsurance Program Funds [3/7/11]

Notice to GMRA Members Ages 55-64

GM Plans for Early Retiree Reinsurance Program Funds

_______________________________________________

GM today announced plans for applying
funds from the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP). The ERRP is a government
program that is intended to improve employer-sponsored benefits plans. Funds
received from the program must be used to benefit health care plan participants,
but application of those funds is at the discretion of the plan administrator,
in this case, GM.

GM will apply ERRP funds
directly to the monthly health care premiums for those enrolled in the GM
sponsored program -- ages 55-64 and not yet eligible for Medicare. Effective
April through December 2011, there will be no health care premium deductions
for qualified program participants. This does not apply to retirees who are in
a COBRA or self-pay plan or for those with sponsored dependents.

If you are currently enrolled
in the GM sponsored health care plan, no action is necessary. GM retirees ages 55-64,
who are not eligible for Medicare and fit the above category but do not
subscribe to the GM plan, will have the opportunity to join the program or add
a dependent as part of a special enrollment window that will open March 15-31.
