GMRA Urges Retirees --Get Connected [6-17-10]
Jun 17, 2010

Dear Fellow GM Retiree,

GMRA wants you back! In order to achieve our goal of retirement security, we’re going to need the support of all GM retirees!

Although the GM bankruptcy is behind us, our work is far from over. We are closely monitoring the salaried GM Pension fund, working with the National Retiree Legislative Network (NRLN) to push for new legislation that will protect our pension benefits, and working with GM to identify new options for retirees that will boost their vehicle purchasing power and other benefits. In many cases, our success will depend on the power of our numbers.

If you’ve already paid your GMRA dues for 2010, my personal thanks for your support and contributions. If not, it takes just five minutes of your time to join or renew your membership and make your payment online at http://www.gmret.org/join.php. If you prefer to register by mail, complete the form on the next page and mail it back with your check.

A 2010 GMRA membership runs from April 2010 through March 2011. With your 2010 dues payment of $25.00, or more, you will receive important GMRA alerts, news and action items that are exclusive to GMRA members in good-standing. The dues are used for business expenses only such as legal counsel, mailings, and legislative campaigns and events. With your GMRA membership, you will also receive a complimentary membership with the National Retiree Legislative Network (NRLN). All GMRA Board members are volunteers.

If you want to know more about who we are and what we do, visit the website: www.gmret.org. Then, invite your GM friends to get onboard with us too. Forward this invitation within your own GM retiree network and ask them to pass it along too. There is strength in numbers, and with your help, we can continue to grow.

Finally, make sure that your contact information with GMRA is current so you don’t miss out on GMRA news or mailings. You can make changes to your registration information online using the Change Profile option: http://www.gmret.org/gmra_change_reg.php.

We always appreciate hearing from our members and welcome your input on your personal retirement challenges.

All the best,

John D. Christie
