Based on input from members, GMRA discussed the need for dental plan options for GM retirees with GM representatives. A benchmarking analysis was conducted by GM to review the dental plan offerings. As a result, two dental plan options have been identified and are now listed as “Special Offers” on the GM Socrates-U.S. Retirees website.

Delta Dental Plan

The Delta Dental individual plans that are listed are available to all retirees, including retirees from companies other than GM.

The Delta Dental Patient Direct discount card is not a dental insurance plan. Services are paid directly to a service provider that is part of the Delta network, but at a discounted rate. In addition to dental care, discounts are available on prescriptions drugs, hearing and vision care, at participating providers. The discount card is limited to retirees who reside in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

DenteMax Dental Solutions

DenteMax expands coverage to additional states, with the exception of Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, Montana and Utah. The subscription rates listed offer GM retirees a discount of 20-40 percent on dental services. These rates are exclusive to GM retirees. Services must be provided by a participating DenteMax dentist.
